Visitors planning to stop at the Kern County museum must keep in mind that the museum is 16 acres of
history and should expect to do a great deal of walking. Proper shoes and clothing are recommended for enjoyment of this museum's exhibits. Keep in mind that summers in Bakersfield can be very hot (possibly over 100 degrees) while winters tend to be milder with some fog and rain.
Admission to the museum is free for museum members. Regular admission for adults is $10, $9 for seniors and students (13-17 years), $8 for students (6-12 years), $7 for children (3-5 years), and children under 3 years are free.
