The vineyards first grape vines were planted in 1970, and is currently owned and operated by Bill and Teresa Hinrichs. The Hinrichs have created a premium wine grape vineyard. Traditional wine making techniques are used with modern concepts, and grapes are picked and sorted by hand. Grapes are gently basket pressed, and wines are stored primarily in French oak once they enter the cellar. Ranchita Canyon Vineyard wines can be viewed on their website.

Cafe Potpourri hosts Wine Tasting Thursday twice a month. Wine tastings are $20 per person, and includes sampling all wines twice, and food such as cheese and crackers, or hot foods, like shrimp and quesadillas. Get ready to enjoy the Kern River in Kernville, CA, as the 26th Annual Wet and Wild Whitewater Wednesday happens on Wednesday, June 5! Those who attend the outing can pick to go on the Lickety Split Run or the Sequoia Splash Run. The whitewater rafting trip will include a BBQ lunch at Riverside Park.

The first option, the Lickety Split Run, costs $30 per person for a single run, “single lick” option, or $55 per person to enjoy the run twice, “double lick” option. This rafting trip option lasts one hour. The Sequoia Splash Run co

The Standing Bear Powwow celebrates the culture, and history of Native Americans. Attendees will get a chance to learn about Native American history through Native American dancing presentations, drumming, arts and crafts, food, and other various demonstrations.

MCV Wines comes from Cayucos, CA, and is still a young winery–they were established in 2011. Their website is currently under construction, but according to their profile on the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance website, MCV Wines strives “to produce the highest quality, boutique wines available.” Their profile also says they focus on Petite Sirah, and they look to create “unique and fascinating blends.”

Winemaker, and co-owner, Dorothy Schuler, searches the state of California for the most mature vines, and grape flavors that are closest to the European flavors as possible.

All of their grapes are hand harvested in the morning, and are destemmed, not crushed. Bodegas Paso Robles produces red, white, and library wines, all of which have multiple varieties to choose from.
